World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade feature for items allows players to increase the item level of equippable weapons or armor. This increases the stats and can also add buffs or rerolls on an attach.
It is crucial to remember that upgrading common gear is not always worth it. Rare and unique gear will quickly outclass the standard gear and upgraded magic.
Cost
The player has to spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on the item's current level and type of upgrade. For instance upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required for upgrading increases as the item is upgraded to a higher level.
An upgraded item will also come with increased stats, which can improve its performance in many ways. This includes increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. Additionally, an upgraded item may be able to give additional bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used for a number of reasons, including to boost the overall power of a particular or group unit. They also can be a significant influence on gameplay.
Any item upgrader NPC can be found in the game. In general these NPCs are found in major cities or questing spots. Players can also locate item upgraders in dungeons that have high-level bosses and by talking to the NPCs in their faction's garrisons.

The item upgrade system in World of Warcraft provides players with the option of upgrading the level of armor, weapons, and trinkets. This process is similar to reforging of gear in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However instead of using currency, players need to visit an upgrader for their item to complete the process.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when it comes to weapons and armor. Depending on the upgrade track each step in item level can cost several Valorstones and crests. The total cost can be a major burden for players who don't have the resources or are unwilling to grind them.
Fortunately the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with an additional tool available in the menu of items. This option will replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that has different bonus effects. This can help you get better rolls on items that have already been upgraded, but could be a waste of time and resources.
Requirements
Upgrading is the procedure of increasing the level of items that can be equipped, such as trinkets, weapons and armor. This can boost their power which makes them more powerful in combat. Players can upgrade gear by spending the appropriate currency at an item upgrader NPC. Players must be aware of the fact that some upgrades require specific requirements.
The earliest upgrades only increase the base item's stats by one level, but later upgrades give more substantial enhancements. For example upgrading a weapon from level three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition the upgraded item will receive an additional stat that is based on its tier. The bonus is a combination of a guaranteed substat and an undetermined stat, which will vary from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can roll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item comes with different set of extra bonuses, and is of a lower level of the item. The rerolled item will have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the rerolled item will not retain its level or have any of its wasted resources.
Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled only if the original item was Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Some exceptional items can also be suitable for rerolling, however their original stats will be replaced with an uninvolved bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will result in a Normal version, and rolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.
An upgraded item may also include additional modifiers that can further increase its stats and improve its performance. These additional modifiers don't come with the upgrade price. They can be obtained through questing, buying them on the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by fulfilling specific missions in the game.

You will also require various amounts of Minerals and Erons.
Time is a major factor.
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of your ship and gear without the need to upgrade them. They're not cheap, but they can be an effective way to boost your stats and not have to spend as much time in battle. It's important to know the costs and benefits before investing your time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item by in a specific amount, and gives a chance to get an additional substat. The extra substat is a random, and can vary from a tiny increase in one statistic to an even greater increase in another. It's best to focus on the top-performing items in your slot first, as they will yield a higher return for your investment.
You can see the amount of time needed to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and select the weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will show the expected completion time and progress. In certain cases you might be able to speed up the process by using a Glyph.
It is also possible to salvage any or all of the upgrade components from an item using a specific high-end salvage kit, which is offered by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment and upgrades, which can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor, or by returning them to the appropriate Karma Merchant.
Rewards
The upgrading of items provides players with currency and a range of items. Every upgrade has a chance to award a random stat bonus. The bonus value will vary for each upgrade, and is typically higher for rarer items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine if an item is upgradeable. The search can also help determine if the item is of the appropriate level and if the player would benefit from a specific upgrade.
During the upgrade process, an item will gradually advance to its next level, but won't always reach a fully upgraded bar. This process consumes Growthstones and Sollant, but there is the chance to obtain an item that is fully upgraded in just one cycle of growth. The more levels an item receives, the higher its stat boost and the more items it can upgrade into.
Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, weapons, or armor to give an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect while the equipment is being worn. Certain upgrade components can be equipped with additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also recover upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are positioned on tools for gathering can be swapped freely.
A player can turn an item into a different upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow that indicates reroll. This will change the layout of the item window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced by an item of level 1. Recycled items will not keep their level, nor the resources used to upgrade it.
The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels up to nine, while common items can only be upgraded up to level six. The upgrades to an item are added to the base statistics of the item and won't increase after a certain amount.
